What is a “peptide”?
A peptide is a short chain of amino acids; some peptides act like hormones or signaling molecules and can interact with receptors in the body.
Peptides range from small signaling fragments to larger therapeutics. Many “research peptides” discussed online are:
- Endogenous-like (mimic a natural signal),
- Modified (engineered for longer half-life),
- Or synthetic fragments studied in model systems.
